Packing up "Evansville"

We spent Memorial day weekend remembering two very special people...and packing up their house!

Emme thought this tool box was a great place to get out of the way!

She helped with some cleaning too!

These two grew up in this house so it was bittersweet for all of us to pull up to a for sale sign.   We were shocked when it sold in less than 24 hours... We can only hope the new owner makes the memories we all have in this house!

The girls modeling Grandpa's favorite hat!  Emme loved the "ponytail".

You learn a lot about people as you go through their stuff....This is my new favorite thing about my sweet Grandpa.  He put a cotton ball in his hats so they didn't hurt is bald head!

Picking a rock from the rock garden!

Good Bye 5801 Madison Avenue.  Thanks for the memories!

Claire went out with a bang...literally!  She cracked her head as we packed the car!

Strawberry Patch

We went to the strawberry patch to pick strawberries with our friends.  Other than it being a million degrees it was so fun!

As you see one of our girls is working hard the other is preparing to eat!

She walked around with about 4 strawberries forever...because she had to pick the best ones!

again with only one working...

This is about 35 minutes of work?!?

This one ate no short of 25 strawberries!  Then there is Emmerson.  She wouldn't even try one.  She was SO upset that Claire was eating them!  She kept saying, " mommy, those haven't been washed!  The green part is still on!"  oh the difference in the two!

Look at Claire's hand.  Notice the dripping juice!

Don't be fooled she only picked them to eat!

Music class

Claire went to music class on Thursday mornings for the last 10 weeks.  She really liked it!  She danced, clapped and made some new friends!

FUN, fun, FUN

Daddy works from home every other Wednesday!  We LOVE it!

Just doing some reading while he works!

Taking a break for him...

See how helpful we are...

Grandma's Birthday

We went to see Grandma for her birthday!

Emmerson picked a flower out of our yard to take to her.  She was very excited about it!

bubbles, bathing suits, and boxes!

Summer is here!  And we are taking full advantage of it!

The house next door to us to being flipped so there is always something going on.  This week the new appliances came in...which meant BIG boxes for us!  Even Jack came over to play in them!

Playing outside makes you really dirty (and silly).  Sometimes you need a bath before you can even go home!

Inside for a quick water break!

This might be our favorite place to eat!

We have been playing in the water table.

Bubbles = a VERY happy Claire!

14 months old

Another month has gone by so quickly! Claire is such a big girl.   We can't believe that her "baby days" are behind us!  It seems like every day she has new words and new tricks.  Some of her new words are: Bella (Bellba), Emme (EE), help, Nana, Pop Pop (Pops), Apple, bubble, and baby(what she calls herself).  We introduced whole milk this month and she didn't seem to notice the change at all.  She loves to give hugs and kisses and waves and blows kisses to everyone.  She is CRAZY over Bella.  She hugs her, kisses, helps feed her, gives her treats, and follows her everywhere.  Of course she still adores her sister and everything she does!  Some of her favorite foods this month are black beans and black olives.  She is still a great sleeper and eater!

Babies are her favorite thing to play with.  She also loves to be outside and to play with bubbles.

We have picnics at Butler all the time.  The students are home for the summer so we have campus to ourselves!

Trip to the dentist

Emmerson went to the dentist for her first visit...she wasn't real excited on the way.  She kept telling me, "Mommy, I think I will just watch this time and let them look at my teeth next time."  That didn't help my excitement as I was dragging both kids into the office (during nap time).  She was great!  SO brave!  She did just what she was told to do with no complaints!  She even smiled and answered all their questions.

Notice the tight grip on the new tooth brush!  Great idea to give them that first!

Baby Ducks at school!

Baby ducks came to visit Emme's school.  She has talked about it daily!

I can only guess what she is telling her teacher!
