Surber Cousins

We went to Florida for vacation and we got to see our Surber family.  The girls did great on the 17 hour drive.  We had so much fun with everyone.

Emmerson loved playing with the big girls.

We spent most of the weekend in the pool.

Claire thought it was so funny when Bradlee would blow bubbles.

This is how she blows bubbles!

Both girls got plenty of attention from their cousin Todd...just like their mom did as a little girl!

A week at the beach

After spending the weekend with our Surber family we headed to the beach for the week.  We had so much fun!  We relaxed a lot but found time to do lots of fun things.

We flew a kite.  Daddy looked good flying the pink princess kite!

Look the kite is up there!

We love the sand!

She liked chewing on shells?!?

Flying it all by herself.

Checking out the beach together (not posed)

She was very serious about her sand castles

Emmerson loved the ocean.

Two of a kind...

Claire helped with the sand castles too!

Claire loved watching the waves.

She has a really rough life if you can't tell.

They were crazy over finding shells.  We brought at least 200 home...

She LOVED the beach!

This sweet girl still loves a cuddle ride!  Her Daddy does too!

Off for more shells!

We ate almost every meal outside!

Sweet sisters!

Emmerson adores this little girl.

It took Claire a day to settle into the beach but she ended up liking it too!

Emmerson would check her findings each night before bed.

We spent lots of time at the pool.  Our girls LOVE to swim.  They would stay in as long as we would let them.  Emmerson is very independent and brave in the water.  Claire is too brave at times she didn't end mind the few times she went all the way under.

Happy girls.

This place makes us sleepy.  Mom went down to the pool for an hour and this is what she found when she returned.

Our GG Surber

While we were in Florida we got to spend time with GG Surber.  This might be one of Emmerson's favorite things to do.  It blows us away how much she LOVES this lady!  She asked each morning if we were going to see her.  I don't think GG minded her company either!

It helps that GG thinks she is funny!

Taking a break by the ocean.

We got to see GG's new place.  Emme was excited to go there but NOT to leave.  Claire needed no warm up time at all with her.  We were surprised but she couldn't get enough of GG.  Climbing on her lap, talking to her, and letting GG love on her!

Showing GG her shoes.

Hiding during hide and seek?!?  great spot huh?

Looking for lizards

Two sweet ladies in their rocking chairs.  Can't wait to see her again.

15 months old

This big girl just turned 15 months old.  We have seen such a change in the last couple months!  She is no longer a baby!  Though she still calls herself "baby".  She is starting to talk so much.  Not just saying the words we ask her to or repeating us, but actually using words to communicate and tell us what she wants and needs.  Some of her new words are: go, boo boo, bird, poop (thanks Emme), cheese, no!, more, eyes, nose, backpack (our favorite).  She is still a pretty good eater, as in she loves to eat...but she is starting to get picky.  Of course she loves all fruits, she will eat most raw veggies, LOVES frozen peas and mac and cheese.  No change in how she feels about her sister.  She spends most of her day trying to keep up and do everything her sister does.  Emmerson is still very sweet to her (most of the time).  We had her 15 month check up and she is in the 8% for weight and the 26% for height.  She is still a mommys/daddys girl but surprises up with her independence.  She loves to sleep.  She would still like to take two naps
a day but it doesn't always happen.  She sleeps a solid 12 hours at night and wakes up calm and happy.  We still can't believe how happy and easy she is.  Love this little one!

What?  More food?

Cuddling with my sister

Still a clam little cuddle bug!

a hoarder...

and super silly!

She is learning to count

I try everything my sister is doing...even her bad habits!

She has a VERY ornery side!
