The State Fair

Daddy took the girls to the Fair on Friday.  Nothing says love like watching Daddy pull out of the driveway in the mini van with a double stroller and diaper bag to head to the fair.  Just so Mom could relax for a few hours at home.  Thankfully some of Daddy's friends from work were going too and the girls love to see them.

The girls couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had when they got home.  They also couldn't believe all the junk food they got to eat...Daddy is way more fun than Mom!

Checking out the baby cows that were just born.

Of course one of the highlights was riding the ponies.

Emmerson was so excited!  All she could talk about was how she got to ride the pony again this year.  (Thanks Alyssa for helping)

As gross as this is to watch it is by far the favorite thing they did!

Last stop was a barn with the baby chicks.  The girls would have stayed all day if he let them!

This is what a two year old looks like post three hours at the fair.  Yes, she did change right into her tutu when she got home and slept in it.

Baby Update...

We are officially 36 weeks and time is flying by.  Not knowing the gender has made our to do list as for preparing very short.  No nursery to finish up, very little clothes to wash, etc.  Which has been  nice.  All is well with the baby.  He or She is BIG (measuring in the 90%) at the ultrasound yesterday they were estimating the weight to already be 7 pounds 4 oz.  We could see hair floating around so I am guessing this one is going to take after Claire in the crazy hair department, rather than our bald baby/toddler Emmerson. The girls are still really excited about the arrival.  Claire still asks daily if the baby is still in my tummy?!?  Emmerson says the funniest things.  She tells me how busy she is going to be taking care of two little ones, and she talks to the baby all the time.  She tells it daily, "hurry and come out you have two big sisters waiting for you."  It melts us to see how excited she is.  It is still fun to make our guesses as for boy or girl.  Claire still thinks its "just a baby". and Emme goes back and forth but leans towards girls still.

Claire likes to make sure the baby doesn't feel left out.

This picture is turned funny but as you can see Claire likes to share her stickers with the baby.

And she feeds the baby milk.

Aunt Brigee is having a baby too.  They already know it is a girl.  Emmerson thinks its pretty great that Marin is going to have a little sister just like her.  Their baby is due 7 weeks after ours so I am sure these babies will be best buddies too.

I am not one to post belly pictures but for memory sake this is the BIG belly at 36 weeks.

Never say NEVER!  We were the type that said we would NEVER own a mini van...well we are officially mini van owners...the girls think it is great.  Neil and I are still wrapping our minds around it.

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school for the girls.  Emmerson's last year of preschool?!? And Claire's second year of Mothers day out.  Thankfully they both love school and were very excited to go back!  I had what I thought was a fine outfit picked out for Emmerson but when she realized she wasn't going to match Claire it caused some concern...she wanted to make sure everyone, "remembered they were sisters."

All ready to go!

SO excited to go in and see our friends and teachers.

They had a great first day!

Summer of swimming

We have spent a lot of time at the pool this summer...both because the girls love it and because Mom doesn't mind just sitting on the side of the pool and watching.  Both girls LOVE the water and are very independent.  Emmerson has even began to learn to swim under water.

Claire makes lots of soup while we are at the pool.

Marin loves to swim with us too.

Emmerson is all over the place and loves the freedom.

Happy sisters.

Claire says, " I swim all by myself".  As she floats around.

Once Emmerson started swimming underwater she was sure she needed goggles.

Of course her little sister did too!

Here is a little video of Emmerson swimming.

Big GIRLS room

So Memorial Day weekend Claire decided she was done with sleeping in her crib.  She climbed out over and over and then started going out head first so....we took one side off the crib and made it a daybed.

The first few nights she slept on the floor by the closed door and then one night we found her like this.

We had already ordered the beds and mattresses but neither where in yet.  So when the mattresses came we just moved Emmerson in with her and started to get them used to the new set up.  The transition was GREAT.  They love being in the same room and it continues to amaze us how they talk for a few minutes and then go right to sleep.  We hear the sweetest conversations in the monitor.

When the beds finally got delivered we got Pop Pop down here right away to help build a "headboard" and get the room all finished.  Pop Pop did good work!  The girls LOVE it! Here is the finished product.
