Christmas at the Zoo

We had great weather for Christmas at the zoo this year!

The girls love all the lights and decorations.

Such a fun family night.

Keeping track of the Hursh/Bloede clan in the dark at the crowded zoo was not easy!

Breakfast with Santa

Breakfast with Santa at the Children's Museum is one of our favorite holiday events.

The big girls were so excited to see Santa and give him their wish list.

The littlest girl...not so much excitement.

The big girls requested American Girl camping stuff.

We went with Jack and Carter and as you can see there was only one that wasn't happy with the big man!

The craft area is a favorite spot for all the kids.

These two are so sweet together.  Seems like yesterday that they were 5 months old and starting daycare together.

Claire has turned into a crafter too!

Audrey was very serious too!

The best part is that they open the slide and Jolly Days early to avoid some of the crowds.

Emmerson's Advent Concert

Emmerson had her annual advent concert.  It is really so fun to watch and a great way to kick off the holiday season.   Each class sings one song and each one couldn't be sweeter.

This picture sums up how Audrey feels about her big sisters.  She literally can't take her eyes off of them!

Sweet sisters ready for the show!

Sitting with her class all ready!

The first graders did a great job!

November FUN!

November was full of fun.  It seems like this time of year time flies due to the holidays.

On one of our trips to Fort Wayne we got to meet Baby Avery (Jerry and Sandy's new granddaughter).

We have had great weather and have been able to be outside a lot more than normal.

We made it to one last IU game.

Emmerson lost both of her front teeth this month!

We squeezed in an after school tea party with Allison and Ava.

The little girls love to go to open gym on Friday mornings.

We made cookies

and visited the Children's museum.

This is what she looks like after the museum...a mixed of exhausted and sad to leave.

Another trip to Jolly Days

Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving plans changed at the last minute due to Pop Pop falling from a ladder and breaking his back.  This means he could no longer travel to Evansville or really leave the house so we went to Fort Wayne to keep them company.  It was our first ever Thansgiving in Fort Wayne.  It was very low key but nice to all be together!

Nana was able to throw together a traditional meal at the last minute! Here are 3 happy girls to prove it!

We even got Pop Pop to the table for dinner!

A Surber visit

My cousin and his family from Florida came to visit Indianapolis.  We had such a great time with them!

We did so many fun things while they were here.

First stop was the Children's museum to go to Jolly Days.

Then a movie!

We even made it to a Butler basketball game.

We played at home a lot too.  It's so fun to watch all the kids play so well together.

But the best part of the weekend is when we went out to dinner without the kids!

Claire's Pow Pow

Claire's class had a Pow Wow.  They sang songs, danced, and told us all that they had learned during their Native American unit.  She loved every minute of it.

The room was set up and ready when we got there.

Then they came out with their drums and sang us lots of songs.

Standing by their class totem pole.

And teepee!  Notice her purse...it had her "traveling cake" in it.  (by far her favorite part)

This is her best buddy Liam.
