One week old

One week old. She finally stopped losing weight but hasn't started gaining any yet. Both of her eyes have clogged tear ducts and she is still yellow so...she is looking a little rough!

If you look close you can see all the junk in my eyes. At least they are open. It takes a warm washcloth to make that happen.

Rough life...

We had only been home a day at this point so we had not yet explained the smashing the baby vs. hugging. Claire didn't mind.

Back to the hospital...

On Monday (Claire was 6 days old) we had to go back to the hospital. She couldn't keep her jaundice level down on her own and it had gotten to a level they weren't comfortable with. So we were sent back to spend another night at the hospital. It was so sad to see her laying in the crib...she hated it. The googles made her crazy! She was only aloud to be held to be fed.

First night home

We didn't get released until after midnight...which made for an interesting start to our first night at home. With Claire being born at 11:14 pm they wait until exactly 48 hours later to do a test and then you get released. Well due to her jaundice levels being so high we had to wait to hear from the doctor if we were able to go home. So at 12:15 am they told us we could go! Thank goodness Nana and Pop Pop were able to stay with Emmers.

Claire Elizabeth was born March 15, 2011 at 11:14pm! Much earlier than expected but healthy as can be! She weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and is 19 inches long! Better pictures of her to come once we get home.

It didn't take long for Emme to warm up to Claire. All she said the whole time she was here was, "Emme's turn to hold her".

It didn't hurt the relationship that Claire got Emmerson a couple gifts to win her over.

Valentines Day

We had a before school photo shoot and of course there was NO chance Emmers was going to leave Bella out! They are best buddies! Emme has caught on to all the nick names we have for the poor dog. With that in mind Bella is now known as Bellie Boo by Emme! There is nothing like hearing her yell...Bellie Boo, Bellie Boo...Where are you?

Though Dad was not pleased I did have a Valentine this year and a date...that was not him!

My Valentine, Jack knows me well. He got be a book that is also a purse! Does it get any better than that?

I went home with him from school and played for our Valentines date! Though I know it was a date...Dad would say it was just because Mom had a doctors appointment that they needed to go to that I got to go to his house.

We are a little concerned about Emmerson's new habit...she takes all her clothes off and put her boots back on?!?

She then tells us "Burrr Emme" and "Emme all nakey" But there is no talking her clothes back on her!

I caught her doing this the other day...she carried her stool into the kitchen and was reaching things off the counter!

Watching Daddy shoveling this winter is a FULL time job!
