Easter Activities

We had a very low key Easter weekend this year.  Emmerson was recovering from her ear surgery so we just stayed around home.  Thankfully we had perfect weather so we were able to spend lots of time outside.  The girls love holidays so they had fun with all the Easter activities.

We had many meals outside Easter weekend and the girls loved that we put their food in Easter eggs.

We dyed Easter eggs this year too.

The Easter bunny found our house.

Happy girls with their baskets.

Audrey was excited about her first Easter basket.

The Easter bunny left our eggs outside.  The girls were so excited to find them all.

 Audrey watched all the action.

Her sisters were nice enough to share a couple eggs with her.

The weekend before Easter the girls school had an Easter egg hunt.

Our pack horse.

There were tons of Easter crafts so the girls were happy.

and an Easter bunny (Claire's teacher from last year)

We won one for the raffle gift baskets!

Jack and Carter pushing the big girls in the wagon, what gentlemen.

Emmerson's Ear Surgery 2.0

Emmerson had an ear surgery in the fall to repair a hole in her eardrum.  Unfortunately it was unsuccessful.  Meaning she had to have another surgery (lateral tympanoplasty) this week.  It was a little longer surgery and a little more invasive.  Though it was a tough day and a long weekend of trying to limit her activity she did great and now we are just hopeful that it worked this time!

Our brave girl before surgery.  She didn't seem to bothered by being back at the hospital but wasn't very happy when the nurses made her go with them again.  We knew this time around would be different because she knew what to expect.

Our brave girl after surgery.  She woke up much calmer than she has in the past but was VERY out of it.

She was such trooper.  Literally didn't complain just sat quietly and asked anyone that would listen if she could go home.

It was a rough trip home with a very sick little girl but Claire was so happy to see Emmerson when we got home.  She looked at her and said, "cool bandaid Emme."

The bandage was one of the most bothersome parts of it all.  She couldn't wait to take it off.  She was pretty uncomfortable when the pain medicine started to wear off but really handled it well.  Sleeping was tricky.  She could make it about 3 1/2 hours and then she would be in enough pain that she would wake and wait for more medicine before falling back to sleep.

The bandage is off and we got to see the doctors work!  Thankfully she couldn't see it!  Her biggest concern was her VERY dirty hair that can't be washed for a few more days!

A BIG Bash!

It's that time of year again here where the birthday celebrations continue on for months.  The last of our celebrations was Emmerson and Claire's joint birthday party.  They were very excited for it to finally be here.

All ready for the party

Since the girls love donuts Mom jumped on the idea and ease of a donut cake.

We had perfect weather so we got to play outside!

Quinn and Audrey got to enjoy the party too.

We did an Easter egg hunt.

Gift time got a little wild with two excited girls!

Before everyone left we had some time to use the bounce house.

First taste of baby food

I was all excited about making baby food this time around.  I spent a whole day making peas, sweet potatoes, and squash.  Emmerson loved all baby food and Claire never really took to it so we were excited to see what Audrey would think.  We always start with vegetables and then move to fruits.  So a few days after Audrey turned 7 months we tired peas...

Excited at first...

Not so excited after the first taste...

Pretty sure she doesn't want anymore bites!

After a battle it ended like this! (keep in mind we were working with 1 ounce of peas total.  Safe bet she ate none and wore almost the whole ounce!)

7 months old

We CAN NOT believe it but our sweet girl is 7 months old!  We wish we could freeze time!  She is SO sweet and happy all the time.  She still loves her sisters, her toys, being outside, her exersaucer, jumparoo, and rolling around on the floor.  She is sitting very well and rolling/scooting all over the room.  There is no more finding her in the spot you left her.  She is taking two good naps and sleeping 12 hours at night (thankfully she got our good sleeping genes).   She is wearing 3-6 months and 6 months clothes.  She is still a good eater and has really taken to her cereal...next up baby food.  She prefers Mom and Dad but is fine with strangers (usually even gives them smiles) as long as she can see us!

Now that Audrey can sit up she loves to play with her toys.

And we thought Claire had a lot of hair!

A sleeping baby melts our hearts!  She rolls right to her side and goes to sleep.
