Our time at the beach

I am not sure there is anything better than a week at the beach!  We loved every minute of it.

The good news is this little girl now LOVES the beach.  She is no longer so worried about the waves that she can't enjoy the rest.

There were many sand castles built.

Claire would knock down the castle as quick as Daddy and Emmerson could build it.

BUSTED!

They had to wash their shells daily.

Happy girls!

We found a few areas on the beach that were full of shells.  The girls picked a million a day!

The girls would wait just like this every. single. time. for Nana to come back with a full bucket of water.

Poor Nana made MANY trips because they could empty that water in a matter of seconds.

Emmerson loved the big holes people dug.

See how brave she was this trip.  I guess that is what 3 trips to the same beach in 9 months will do!

There were men fishing on the beach and Claire was very interested in what was going on.  Have we mentioned how brave this kid is?

Living the carefree life!

Emmerson finally figured out how to fill up her own buckets this trip!  Thank goodness!

Easter with GG

We left for Florida the day before Easter so we would be there in time to celebrate with GG Surber.

We pulled out at 5 am and these two troopers were ready!

We got there very late Saturday night and some how the Easter Bunny knew where to find us because we woke up to our Easter baskets.

When we woke up we went right to see GG.  We were so excited to see her.

We brought some pictures from our birthday party...

and video to share with GG.

Pop Pop didn't want his head to get sunburned so Emmerson used her dress to help!

We went to Uncle Gary and Aunt Candi's for Easter dinner.  We had so much fun and got to spend so much time with GG.

We even got to go swimming.

Emme loved the waterfall.

The Easter Bunny hid our eggs at their house.  We loved looking for them.

After we found all the eggs we showed GG everything we found.

Claire turns TWO

Our sweet girl turned two!  She is funny, curious, brave, and usually into something...So in many ways very unlike her sister.  She climbs on everything, is very independent, and knows just what she wants.  With all that being said...she is still sweet as can be and very laid back!  She loves to cuddle and still loves to be held.  She is a great sleeper and absolutely LOVES her bed and blanket.  She still needs a two hour nap and usually sleeps 12 hours at night.  She spends most her her days doing everything her sister does.  I have never seen someone adore another person the way she adores Emmerson.  By far Emmerson is the funniest, smartest, most important person in her life. She still enjoys school and playing with her friends.  She loves to sing and knows pretty much every song we have ever sang her.  She knows her colors, shapes, can sing her ABC's and is able to recognize most of her letters. (due to her favorite teacher Emmerson)  As for food she still doesn't require much of it.  If we let her she would live off noodles, yogurt, strawberries, red peppers, and cheese and do without anything else.

On Claire's real birthday we kept very busy.  Daddy left some donuts to start our day off right.  Then we headed to Anna and Owen's to play and have lunch.

Once Daddy got home we went to have dinner at our favorite neighborhood place.

Jack and his family were there too so we got to celebrate with them.

Next we headed for cupcakes...her very favorite!

Then we went home and opened presents before bed!

Not a bad day for a two year old!

Spring snow!

What do you do when you get over 9 inches of snow on March 25th?

Play with all your new birthday toys!

Both girls are enjoying their new princess gear!  Claire has her high heels and crown on at all times...they are a HUGE hit!

Going fishing!

Making play doh ice cream!

And then of course there is plenty to do outside!  These girls LOVE the snow!

It was so deep Claire couldn't get up when she fell down.  She would just wait for someone to come get her up!

She made a little seat.

Once Claire got tired she needed a lot of help walking.  Emmerson never minds helping her sister.

Sweet sisters.

Snow angels

We talked Daddy into staying home and playing with us!  They love their IU man!

So does Daddy!

Emmerson said, " Mommy, you won't believe it...It's taller than you!".
