Finishing up School

The girls finished up their last day of school a few weeks ago.  It was a busy week for them but they loved all the activities the school offers to celebrate the end of the school year.

Look at the difference in these pictures!  It is amazing how fast they grow!

First day of school - August 2012

Last day of school - June 2013

On the last day of school the girls had a special breakfast for the dads to celebrate Fathers day.

Then at lunch time all the families were invited back to school for the end of the year picnic.  Emmerson loves to be with her teachers.

The next night the school has a big fish fry.  The girls love to go and run around.

Mothers Day

I got to spend a fun day with these girls for Mothers Day.  I am a lucky lady to be the mom of these girls!

May FUN!

May was a very busy month around here!  Thankfully the weather was very nice and we were able to be outside a ton!

While we were planting flowers I looked over and saw the girls sitting in these chairs.  I asked them what they were doing.  Emmerson said, "we are tailgating at IU."

We have been able to eat most meals outside. Which makes this family happy!

We went in to check on Claire before bed one night and this is what we found.  One leg and one arm out of her pjs.  Guess she was hot!

The girls find a million ways to keep busy outside!

Then they come in VERY tired!

This happens often these days.  Claire likes to "give" her stickers, snacks, and anything else she has to the baby.

We went to the zoo a few times but the best part was watching these elephants go swimming.

The girls couldn't believe it!  They wanted to watch until the elephants got out of the water.  Emmerson thought it was pretty cool that the elephants were sisters.

These two have so much fun together.

and love to cuddle!

We got to spend sometime with the Hurshs too.

The girls love helping Daddy wash his car.

Then they like to wash anything and everything else they can too.

Silly girls!

BOY or GIRL?!?

Your guess is as good as ours...We didn't find out!  I am not sure anyone thought we would really say NO when they asked us if we wanted to know the sex of our baby at the 20 week ultrasound, but we did!  I am really excited to wait this time around and Neil was kind enough to support my decision.  So if we bring a little boy home in the fall please be nice to him as he will be wearing pink and sleeping in a pink room until we can get our act together!

I have never been one to post ultrasound pictures due to that fact they can look kind of creepy!  But  we thought this little foot was so cute and since we don't have any gender news to share this will have to do for now!  This little baby is always moving around so I have been telling Neil that it has some active little feet!   It is fun to see those little feet that are kicking me!

We kept to our original tradition of getting a babysitter and going to dinner to celebrate a healthy baby! We have also always shopped for an outfit to bring the baby home from the hospital in.  This time we needed two since we don't know...pink or blue!  Emmerson was so excited about the outfits the next day that she wanted everyone to make a guess on which one we needed.

Daddy thinks pink!

Mommy thinks blue!

Emmerson is SURE it is a girl! she said, " I have a sister and I like it so I think it will be another sister."

If you ask Claire what she thinks she responds with "a baby"  EVERY TIME!

Celebrating with little friends

Though it feels we have been celebrating birthdays for months...Emmerson some how talked us into a friends party.  We invited some school friends and her friends Anna and Cecilia.  It was very quick and easy just like Mom and Dad wanted.  We went to a neighborhood book store for a story hour and craft and then next door to the cupcake shop for a treat.

When we got there they had a craft set up for us to do while we waited for all of our friends to get there.

We made these cute spring hats.

Once everyone was there we heard a few stories about spring and the animals we might see in our yards.

Then we did another spring craft.

Last stop was the cupcake shop.

It was super yummy!

Claire's first haircut

Claire got her first haircut a few days after her second birthday.  She was a big girl.  She was excited to sit on the horse and just watched the lady work.

Of course Emmerson got her haircut too so they both got balloons!

Emmerson turns 4!

This sweet girl turned 4 while we were in Florida.  Anyone that knows her knows it was a big celebration!  She is really turning into a big girl.  We can't believe how she is growing up so fast.  She still loves to be outside, to ride her bike, to read books, any kind of crafts, loves school, playing with her friends, and playing with her baby dolls.  She is the BEST big sister.  She is so sweet to Claire.  Always very helpful and willing to let Claire do whatever she wants.  She is very excited to be a big sister again and never misses a chance to talk about it.  Emmerson is always busy.  The minute she wakes up she has a plan for what she wants to do and usually gets started on it.  She wants to learn to write words so bad.  She can spell our family names and a handful of other words and is able to sound out most words so I am sure it won't be long.  She is still a great sleeper and good eater.  She rarely naps anymore but does have rest time in her room every day.

On her "real" birthday she told us that she, "Wanted to play outside all day.  Even have lunch in the pool and dinner outside."  Her only other requests were ice cream and to sleep on the beach all night.  Minus the sleeping outside we were able to do just what she wanted.

The day started with donuts on the balcony.

Then opening a few gifts.

Then we headed right to the beach for a morning walk.  We were outside before 9:00 with a very happy girl.

Looking for some birthday shells.

Hanging with her best buddy!

She loved writing in the sand.  She wrote everyone in our families names and wanted us to stand by them for a picture.

We spent our morning on the beach.

We made it to the pool in time for lunch IN the pool.

Aunt Nancy and Aunt Candi came to the pool to celebrate with us too.  They even brought some new books to read.

Still outside.  Dinner pool side.  As you can see 9 hours outside will wear a girl out!

We left from the pool to go get ice cream.

And headed inside with two happy but tired girls after over 10 hours straight outside.  I would say it was a great day!
