Clearwater for Christmas

We had a couple extra days this year with the way Christmas fell midweek.  Neil didn't want to wait to leave for vacation so we decided to surprise the girls with a side trip.  Neil wanted to be surprised too.  So I planned it and was so hopeful it would all work out.  The girls love the movie Dolphin Tale.  It is about a real dolphin, named Winter.  Winter lives at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.  So it seemed like an easy choice.  I told them at our Christmas morning brunch and they were so excited! We traveled on December 23rd so we could spend Christmas Eve at the aquarium.

They were so excited when we got there.  They were squealing as they saw all the familiar sites from the movies.   We spent the whole day there and they loved every minute of it.

Of course the highlight was seeing Winter and Hope.

Rufus the crazy pelican was there too!

We watched all the dolphin show action we could find!

The most exciting part was a surprise gift from Nana and Pops to get to interact with the dolphins.

They got to feed them and get kisses on the hands.

After the day at the aquarium we headed to a hotel on the beach.  The girls were happy to get their toes in the sand.

We even caught a sunset before heading for Christmas ice cream.

This is one of those days we will never forget!
