bubbles, bathing suits, and boxes!

Summer is here!  And we are taking full advantage of it!

The house next door to us to being flipped so there is always something going on.  This week the new appliances came in...which meant BIG boxes for us!  Even Jack came over to play in them!

Playing outside makes you really dirty (and silly).  Sometimes you need a bath before you can even go home!

Inside for a quick water break!

This might be our favorite place to eat!

We have been playing in the water table.

Bubbles = a VERY happy Claire!

14 months old

Another month has gone by so quickly! Claire is such a big girl.   We can't believe that her "baby days" are behind us!  It seems like every day she has new words and new tricks.  Some of her new words are: Bella (Bellba), Emme (EE), help, Nana, Pop Pop (Pops), Apple, bubble, and baby(what she calls herself).  We introduced whole milk this month and she didn't seem to notice the change at all.  She loves to give hugs and kisses and waves and blows kisses to everyone.  She is CRAZY over Bella.  She hugs her, kisses, helps feed her, gives her treats, and follows her everywhere.  Of course she still adores her sister and everything she does!  Some of her favorite foods this month are black beans and black olives.  She is still a great sleeper and eater!

Babies are her favorite thing to play with.  She also loves to be outside and to play with bubbles.

We have picnics at Butler all the time.  The students are home for the summer so we have campus to ourselves!

Trip to the dentist

Emmerson went to the dentist for her first visit...she wasn't real excited on the way.  She kept telling me, "Mommy, I think I will just watch this time and let them look at my teeth next time."  That didn't help my excitement as I was dragging both kids into the office (during nap time).  She was great!  SO brave!  She did just what she was told to do with no complaints!  She even smiled and answered all their questions.

Notice the tight grip on the new tooth brush!  Great idea to give them that first!

Baby Ducks at school!

Baby ducks came to visit Emme's school.  She has talked about it daily!

I can only guess what she is telling her teacher!

Mother's Day

We had a busy Mothers Day.  We went for a walk on the canal and had lunch downtown.  Then played outside at home!  The weather was perfect but the company was even better!  I am so glad I get to be these girls mom!  I hope everyone feels as lucky as I do to be a mom!

Ready to head downtown!

We love walking by the canal.

Feeding the ducks.

Yes, we travel with our own highchair....that's what you have to do when you have lunch at bars.  Brilliant or sad...you decide!

Emmerson's new thing is wanting to carry Claire on her shoulders.  Again, thank goodness Claire is such a good sport!

Serious little driver can't be bothered!

Fun at home!

We have been busy at home!  Sometimes with friends...sometimes just us!

This is my friend Cecilia.  We love my markers!

Anna and I have the same jammies!

and silly faces!

"hey mom take a pictures of my night gown"  She thinks there is NOTHING better than sleeping in a dress!

Claire's favorite place to sit!  Though she can't be trusted as she prefers to stand/climb on the back!

We still spend a TON of time on Butler's campus.  Claire has fallen in love with our "park" too!

Trading pine cones

The picnic table is out...not sure which one of the girls likes eating together more!

They can always be found sitting together!

Marin likes to go to Butler with us too!

This is were they sit while I make breakfast.  I am not sure why it is so fun but they giggle the whole time! every. single. morning!

13 months old

Our SWEET baby is turning into a BIG girl!  She is full of personality and so fun to be around.  She is always smiling, laughing, and being silly.  She still adores her sister more than anything in the world!  She is walking, running, climbing, dancing and doing everything possible to keep up with her big sister.  She has transitioned from being breastfed to a sippy cup but NOT without an 8 day starvation fight! She has 8 teeth (her top and bottom front four and her 1 year molars are almost all the way in).  Some of her favorite foods are cheese, pancakes, yogurt, cheerios, bananas, and anything her sister is eating.  She is crazy over books, baby dolls and playing outside. Bath time with her sister is her favorite part of the day! She is starting to say many more words and making some animal sounds.  Her daily words are: Mama, Dada, up, yes, no, ball, and hi.  She signs more and all done.  She say moo, ruff, Ho Ho (thanks Emme for thinking Santa was important while teaching her animal sounds).  She is still a great sleeper....taking two naps a day and 12 hours at night.  Emme put it perfectly when she said, "I am so glad baby is our baby!"

Neil found her sound asleep sitting up the other night!

A few days after she turned 13 months we moved her to her big girl seat because lets be honest...she would have never out grown the infant seat!  She thinks she is pretty cool!
