Boy or Girl???

We have a tradition that after our 20 week ultrasound we go out to celebrate a healthy baby and buy an outfit to bring the baby home from the hospital in.

Since we didn't find out the gender we picked both pink and blue!

We then use the outfits to make our family guesses on the gender!

Emmerson's guess - Girl

Claire's guess - Girl

Audrey's guess - Girl

Daddy's guess - Girl

Mommy's guess - Boy

Either way... we will take it!

New earrings at our house!

Claire has mentioned wanting to get her ears pierced many times since Emmerson got hers pierced this summer, and each time we have just kind of changed the subject.  Well one day she asked directly, and I could't really think of any good reason to say no...so I said yes!  She couldn't believe it.  The whole way there she kept saying, " I can't believe you said yes!"

She jumped right up in the chair and was ready!

She was so brave.  She just closed her eyes and didn't move!

She picked these because she wanted to match Mom.

She was all smiles afterwards!
The best part of the story was telling Daddy.  I called on our way and he didn't answer.  So I sent a text and asked if he thought she was old enough.  He didn't respond.  So, I figured he wouldn't really have an opinion.  After we were done he responded to my text...saying, " YES, she is too young!"  I causally responded, " what if it's too late..." Poor Daddy!

A little bit of SNOW

We have had a very mild winter.  The girls would have loved a bit more snow.

Even when just an inch fell they were suited up and ready to go out in it.

They couldn't be happier!

Even Audrey mastered snow angels this year.

The whole neighborhood is out as soon as they can be!

Audrey's first haircut

Audrey got her first real haircut.  I have been known to snip a bit here and there but it was time for a real trim!

She thought it was great!

She looks so big!

Winterfest

Claire and Audrey's school had a family Winterfest.  Claire was so excited about bringing all of us to her school event.

Ready for the fun!

The "sledding hill" was the biggest hit!

There was face painting,

ice skating,

play doh,

photo booths,

and tons of games!  We all had a great time!

100th Day

Emmerson did a project for the 100th day of first grade.  She needed a collection of 100 things.

She decided on 100 chocolate chips.

She decided the best way to display that was on 10 cookies, on a tray with some milk!

Sick girls!

This time of year seems to bring on the germs...January brought on a couple sick girls!

Just waiting for the doctor to come in.  Third time to the doctor in two weeks.  Pneumonia, double ear infection, and a sinus infection.  You would never know she was sick...ever!  She literally NEVER complains! The perfect example was when we were at the doctor for her pneumonia recheck and the doctor asked her if her ears hurt.  She said no and gave the doctor a crazy look.  The doctor then looked at me and said she had a nasty double ear infection...

Though, this is what Claire looks likes on both oral steroids and nebulizer steroids every 4 hours!

She didn't mind the breathing treatments!

Emmerson was next...Never turned into pneumonia but got nasty enough she got breathing treatments too.   She minded... a lot!

Then she got a stomach bug!  Everyone LOVES the sick bed in Mom and Dad's room!
Somehow Audrey was the lucky one and just got a cold!
