Our first camping trip

Our friends invited us to go camping with them.  The moms were excited about the idea since we both grew up camping and have great childhood memories of these trips.  The dads were not as excited.  The idea of two nights in the woods with 6 kids under 6 seemed like a bit much to them.  So we compromised on cabins vs. tents and went on our way, and we couldn't be happier that we did!

Home sweet home for the weekend. (McCormick's Creek State Park)

Our first hike...collecting all kinds of goodies.

Our littler hikers

The littlest hiker had it made!  She loved that backpack.  She kept saying, " Daddy backpack FUN".

We found a playground in the campground.  Of course it was surrounded by poison ivy so it was a little tricker than the normal trip to a playground.

Happy hikers!

The huge tree trunks were a hit

and the stumps!

They couldn't believe you could get inside a tree.

Even the dads were impressed with how much fun everyone was having!

Wolf cave

We were shocked by how brave the kids were.  The dads couldn't keep up with them in the cave.

Audrey waited outside due to the backpack not fitting.  She was happy as can be as long as we didn't make her get out of the backpack.

The whole crew!

A sweet Daddy and his girls.

So fun to see the next generation of friendship forming. All the kids get along so well and have so much fun together.

One of my favorite camping memories from childhood was visiting the waterfalls at McCormick's Creek. I was so excited to take the girls there.

The loved it!

Even Audrey got to play in the water.  She kept calling it a water park.

It was so fun to watch the girls explore all of this.  They were so brave and would have stayed all day.

Our weekend was a great success and all 4 adults have agreed to another weekend this fall!  The girls would go back tomorrow!
