4 Months Old

Caroline is 4 months old!  I feel like we are finding the balance between enjoying her and keeping up with our busy life.  She is sweet, calm, and all we could have hoped for in another baby.  She is still in our room.  Mainly because she is sleeping all night and we are afraid to change anything since we are somehow keeping our heads above water! (we also openly admit we like looking over and seeing her sweet face)  She is getting great with her hands and it able to reach most things and to get toys to her mouth. She is a busy little lady and has learned to be very flexible.  As her big sisters transition back to school we plan to settle her into being home more and getting on a schedule.

As I look through the pictures from this month all I can think about is my friend that told me all fourth babies deserve their own hashtag...#poor4thbaby If these picture don't prove that I am not sure what will!

No one plans to put he down for a nap...guess I will sleep here! #poor4thbaby

Hey guys....you forgot something! #poor4thbaby

So this is my crib?  Nice of you to finally put it together!  #poor4thbaby

Seriously, I am just so tired!  #poor4thbaby

This is tummy time!  #poor4thbaby

Hello??? Someone got me ready for bed and got distracted by life!  #poor4thbaby

I spend most of my life in my carseat! #poor4thbaby

But thankfully she doesn't seem to mind any of the above and is the sweetest 4 month old we know!

The BEST Biggest Sister

We have been so lucky each time we have brought a new baby home.  We have never seen jealously from any of the big sisters just pure love for the new baby.  It is so fun to watch everyone take on their new rolls.  Emmerson is always the caretaker, Claire the one that distracts the fussy ones, and Audrey is still in shock that this baby is all ours!    There were many times I was completely blown away by all of them this summer and their love for their new sister this summer.  Emmerson seemed to grow up so much.  She was so helpful with all her sisters.  Helping give snacks, take people to the potty, start breakfast, and even change diapers.

But this moment will never be forgotten!  I got out of the shower and it was still quiet downstairs so I continued to get ready.  When I came down this is what I saw.  Emmerson holding a sleeping baby.  I was confused because Caroline had been asleep in the swing when I went upstairs.  Emmerson told me the whole story...and my heart melted!  She told me Caroline started crying!  She said, " I tried everything you would have done and it didn't work.  So I found a passie and picked her up.  I was bouncing her but once she went to sleep I got tired so I moved this chair out with my foot and just sat down.  I was too scared to move after that!"  Spoken just like a true big sister of 3!

As summer was ending I would find Emmerson sneaking away with Caroline more and more.  She told me she was really worried she was going to miss her a lot!  I assured her everyone was going to be ok , though I was VERY concerned I was going to miss Emmerson and all her help!

Back to School

The big girls are headed back to school.  They both seem very excited!  The day before school started we took their school supplies to their classrooms and visited with their teachers.

Emmerson- 2nd grade (Mrs. Gross)

Claire- Kindergarten (Mrs. Ashton and Mrs. Bennett)

The girls popped out of bed the next morning!

They were so excited and quickly helped each other get dressed.

Claire- most excited about, "seeing Emmerson at school".

Emmerson- most excited about,"having my sister at my school".

Audrey...least excited about being left behind!

The day went well and they both walked out with smiles and a good friend!

Best of all Daddy surprised them with back to school flowers!

Last day of summer

The girls always get to pick what they want to do on the last day of summer.  They chose to go to the bagel shop for breakfast and then to spend the day at the museum.

Claire loves when I agree to a morning trip to the bagel shop.  She said it is one of the things she will miss most when she has to go to school everyday!

Ready to take on the museum.

The museum was empty since most kids were already back in school so we rode the carrousel at least 5 times!

We ran into the girls friends Ava and Allison. Which is always a treat!

The new Doc McStuffins exhibit just opened so the girls were really excited to see it!

We even went to a class in the clinic.

The day was a huge success and I was sad to see it come to an end!

This sweet baby was exhausted when we got home...as she is most days. I think she will be ready for a calm day at home tomorrow!
I was nervous about how summer was going to go.  How would I help the big girls enjoy their summer and do fun things with them?  How would I give the little girls the naps they needed and feed Caroline on the go while watching three other kids?  Somehow it all worked out.  We kept very busy and did so many fun things.  As it ends I am sad it is over but am very pleased with how it all went!  I feel lucky these little ladies are mine and that I get to spend all this time with them!

Sweet Caroline's Baptism

We had Caroline baptized at St. Thomas Aquinas.  She was lucky enough to have a lot of her family there to be part of the day.

She was awake at the beginning and just looked around.

She didn't mind the process at all

She even fell asleep and slept through most of it.

The big girls loved watching it all

These two stood like this the entire time.

We were lucky to have some many family member join us.

Caroline is lucky to have such sweet godparents that love her!

After the baptism we all went back to our house for a cookout...in the rain!

Caroline has lots of babies to grow up with!

We hope these two cousins will be best buddies...

Like these two!

Our day ended with a cake covered Adam!
